Leak under chillerUpdated 7 months ago

If you spot water leaking from beneath the chiller, there's no need to worry! It's likely not a leak within the chiller itself. If it is a small amount of water, it is likely just condensation. If you believe that it's more water than what condensation would produce, read below:

While it might seem like the water is originating from within the chiller, the most common cause is actually poorly seated fittings at the "in" or "out" holes of the chiller. When these fittings aren't properly seated, water can seep from either hole and trickle down internally within the chiller. Rest assured, this won't cause any damage to the chiller.

Click HERE for important tips and how to properly set your chiller fittings

There can be some water from condensation on the inside of the chiller as well. This is normal and does not affect the performance of the unit.

NOTE: We have only experienced one case where there was an internal chiller leak. In almost every reported case of water "leaking" beneath the chiller, we have been able to identify the source as water trickling down either the "in" or "out" hole, OR condensation

Here's a photo of the inside of the chiller:

This is typically the spot from which water leaks, eventually trickling out from beneath the chiller.
